The last two undergraduate research workshops of the fall term will be presented this month. Everyone (undergraduate students, graduate students, curious advisors, faculty, etc.) are welcome to attend these events.

Packaging & Presenting Your Research Experience: A Resume Workshop for Undergraduate Researchers
How do you effectively present your research experience on your resume? It’s so much more than just listing that you’ve participated in a research experience.  You’ve had an opportunity that will set you apart from other college students, so learn how to package and present the knowledge, skills, and experiences you have gained on resumes, work or graduate school applications, and during interviews.  Bring along your resume if you have one. This workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Linda Gross from the Career Center.
When: Monday, November 9 from 5:15 – 6:15 PM
Where: 313 Bessey Hall

Starting a Company
Do you possess the business know-how to start your own business? What makes an entrepreneur succeed? Which skills do you need–and which one should you learn? Find out about the most essential skills a person needs to run a business.  MSU Alum and Entrepreneur Gary Grondin (LBC ‘74) will talk about what it takes to begin and run your own business. Topics will include the basics of a business plan, legal structures, contracts, accounting skills, finance, marketing, and human resource issues.  This workshop is sponsored by the Gerstacker Foundation.
When: Wednesday, November 18 from 7:00-8:30 PM (Note: NEW TIME)
Where: 105 Natural Science.
